Join us on Friday October 10, 2008 at 11:30 AM for Part 2 of security on the IBM i. There was so much to talk about on September 9, that we ran out of time. Clark Scholten, our IBM Power Systems Technical Sales resource for the West Region, has agreed to finish his presentation via the web. We looked at the security features built into the system with users and object level security and auditing but didn't have time for exit points, security system values or the new IBM Secure Perspectives product. If you missed Part 1, we will have Clark's presentation as a PDF available soon on this web site.

As always, we will have sandwiches and fixin's from Scolaris and a drawing for a $25 gift card. You must be present to win.

Welcome to Reno-Sparks Midrange Users Group PDF Print E-mail

The user group, RSMUG, was founded for individuals and business entities working with or interested in the use of IBM's System i for applications, networks and e-business. We encourage people of all skill levels - from novice to experienced - to attend.

RSMUG usually gathers on the second Friday of the month from 11:30 to 1:00 PM. Sandwiches and snacks from Scolaris are provided for you to enjoy while we meet. A portion of the RSMUG meeting is dedicated to a roundtable format, welcoming discussion on any topic. We typically have a guest speaker at the meetings.

RSMUG meets at Scolaris Company Headquarters, 255 South McCarran Blvd, Sparks.

IBM actively supports the RSMUG group with their attendance and occasionally supplies a speaker. This is the only System i User Group in Nevada. Membership is open to anyone.

The annual fee for RSMUG members is based on an individual membership. The fee is $50.00 per individual. Checks should be made payable to: Reno-Sparks Midrange Users Group and can be brought to any of the monthly meetings or sent to:
